Early morning Christmas thief caught by RCMP
Early this morning Cranbrook RCMP arrested a male with a large amount of suspected stolen items.
At approximately 1:30 a.m. (Dec. 20) Cranbrook RCMP was alerted to a male who had departed the mall with a large number of items believed to have been stolen. RCMP were in the area immediately and noted a male walking away pushing a full cart.
“RCMP members were able to arrest the male and seize the items,” said Cst. Katie Forgeron. “Pictures, blankets and lottery tickets were among the items located during the arrest.”
A 39-year old Cranbrook resident was arrested on scene and remains in custody at this time.
The male also had an outstanding warrant for possession of stolen property, police added.
