Festival will be an action-packed weekend

Are you ready for the most action-packed weekend of the year?

Join us for the Spirit of the Rockies Festival, where you can enjoy a variety of events for the whole family.

There is so much happening that parking is a premium during the Spirit of the Rockies Festival.  On the Saturday BC Transit will be offering free busing to the different event spots for the whole day so leave that car and take advantage of not having to find a spot to park!

Head downtown and start the day off with a pancake breakfast being hosted by the Girl Guides on Baker Street followed by the St. Eugene Golf and Resort Grand Parade at 10:30 a.m.

Our Manitoulin Transport Market will be in full swing at 11 a.m. with over 45 different market vendors coming in to showcase their goods and products – there is something for everyone to fall in love with or try.

The Strongman Competition brought to you by Fitness Inc, is a must see.

Spring Honda’s Festival Tastes will be showcasing our food vendors from throughout the Kootenays.  You might even want to try three or four different food trucks!

Total Pet/ Pet Valu Community Talent Showcase will be kicking off at noon and will be showcasing many talents. You do not want to miss out on the performances available for all patrons to watch.

At 1 p.m. don’t miss the Wiener Races!

What else will keep your family busy and having fun? BA Blacktop Giant Inflatable Funland, PT the Clown face painting, Roving Stilt Walkers and seven bouncy houses and a skateboard competition and demo.  Try your roller skating skills at the Curling Rink starting a 5 p.m.

During the day make sure to check out Beach Volleyball at the College of the Rockies, the soccer tournament that is going on up at Moir Park and in Marysville, as well as the Rockies Royale Slo-pitch ball tournament at Moir park, and the quads.

For adult entertainment check out the BA Blacktop Spirit of the Balls Bocce tournament from noon until 8 p.m. in the Molson Coors Spirit of the Rockies Festival Beer Gardens (volunteers pictured above).

Finish off the day with the Cranbrook Bucks concert and beer garden featuring Destroyer starting at 7:45 p.m..

The fun doesn’t end there though as Sunday will kick off with the Annual Fireman’s Fishing Derby at Idlewild park, pancake breakfast at Rotary Park and a community worship service starting at 10 a.m. at Rotary Park.

Or head out to Fort Steele for Father’s Day at the Fort.  Finish the weekend off right by watching the finals of the Rockies Royale Slopitch Ball Tournament.
