First female Leader of the Opposition coming to town

The directors of Kootenay Columbia Federal CPC Association invite you to attend a very evening April 27 with former Leader of the Opposition, Deborah Grey.

Hosted by Kootenay-Columbia Conservative candidate Rob Morrison, the reception will be from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Cranbrook’s Prestige Rocky Mountain Resort and Convention Centre.

Deborah Grey served as the Reform Party’s deputy leader and caucus chair until March 2000, when the party was folded into the Canadian Alliance.

When Preston Manning stepped down as Leader of the Opposition to contest the Alliance leadership race, Grey was appointed Leader of the Opposition. She was the first female Leader of the Opposition in Canadian history.

Grey served as the Western chair of the Conservative campaign in the 2006 election, in which Stephen Harper became Prime Minister of Canada.
