Flash mob planned for tomorrow
It sounds as though there will be some flashing going on at Rotary Park in Cranbrook tomorrow night (Nov. 25).
Flash mobbing, that is.
According to rounds on Facebook and by email, a flash mob is planned for 7:45 p.m. around the stage area (pictured above).
“Learn the routine (it is easy and everyone can do it!). Song: ‘I Gotta a Feeling’ by the Black Eyed Peas. It will start off with someone dancing really funny and everyone joining in (jumping up and down pushing hands up in the air) at approximately 1:30 into the song “Tonight’s the Night” – the part you hear in the video – you repeat the simple routine on youtube.com: Cranbrook Flashmob Nov 25.MOV. Please forward to everyone you know. Make this Christmas Light-Up a really fun one!” An email sent throughout the city today requests.
According to Wikipedia, a Flash Mob is: “A flash mob (or flashmob) is a group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform an unusual and sometimes seemingly pointless act for a brief time, then disperse, often for the purposes of entertainment, satire, or artistic expression. Flash mobs are organized via telecommunications, social media or viral emails.”
So head down to Rotary Park after the Santa Claus Parade tomorrow and be a part of this modern craze. Just be careful when you are spontaneously dancing because you might step on a planker.
