Flushing continues; water discolouration possible

The City of Cranbrook’s water main flushing program operations are set to resume today (Sept. 11).

The area being flushed over the next few days is from 13th Street South to 17th Street South between 13th Avenue South and 17th Avenue South. The flushing work in this area will not affect water quality at Kootenay Orchards Elementary School.

Some customers may experience discolouration in the water for a short period while this flushing work is done. If you do have discolouration, please run your cold water tap until the water runs clear. This discolouration is not a public health concern.

The annual flushing program is done each year to ensure water mains are clear of sediment in order to provide the best water quality possible to your home and business.

The city will provide updates regularly so you know where the flushing program is moving to next.

The City of Cranbrook appreciates the patience and understanding of our residents and businesses as this important flushing program unfolds.
