Fundraising underway for local girl with leukemia
A fundraising effort is underway for a Cranbrook family dealing with a sudden leukemia diagnosis and treatment for their 10-year-old daughter.
“Olivia Potorti was diagnosed with leukemia just last week. Olivia and her parents were off for treatment in Calgary at the Children’s Hospital the very next day,” said family friend Ryan Seibel.
A GoFundMe account has been set up to assist with expenses associated with her treatment that has raised nearly $14,000 of the $20,000 goal in less than a week.
“The town has shown amazing support and generosity. Olivia has been nominated to receive part of the proceeds of the Eagles Charity Challenge Boxing Event as well, Cranbrook Crossift is dedicating an event this coming Friday to Olivia and collecting donations to assist with the fundraising efforts.”
