ICE hope to blanket Hitmen in bears; 4 p.m. game time
The Kootenay ICE is holding the A&W Toque, Mitten and Teddy Bear Toss Game this Saturday, December 16.
Puck drop against the Calgary Hitmen is scheduled for 4 p.m. at Western Financial Place. When the ICE score their first goal, it’s time to launch the Teddy bears onto the ice surface; always making for a spectacular scene.
Here are some reminders for Saturday’s game:
You can…
Bring as many NEW toques, mittens or teddy bears as you like!
You should…
Ensure each item is wrapped in a clear plastic bag so they remain dry when hitting the ice.
Please don’t…
Throw anything besides toques, mittens and teddy bears onto the ice. This is to ensure the safety of the fans, players, referees and everyone else inside the building.
FYI…
It doesn’t matter how large or small the teddy bears are – all teddy bears are welcome!
All donated items will be given to local charities and organizations.
In addition, the very talented Choir from Mount Baker Secondary School will sing at the game and the A&W Bear will drop the puck for the ceremonial face-off. A complimentary photo booth by SnapShot will be set up to capture the festive spirit of the day.
This is one of the most anticipated and exciting ICE home games of the season and we look forward to showcasing the generosity of ICE country.
