Key City Theatre launches Give Us A Lift fundraiser

Key City Theatre is calling on the community to help make the venue more accessible for all with its new Give Us A Lift fundraiser.

The campaign aims to raise funds to install a passenger elevator, ensuring that everyone, regardless of mobility challenges, can fully enjoy the theatre’s performances, events, and community programming.

For decades, Key City Theatre has been a cultural hub in Cranbrook, hosting performances, concerts, and educational programs that bring people together.

However, the lack of an elevator has created barriers for many patrons, performers, and volunteers with mobility challenges. The Give Us A Lift fundraiser is a crucial step toward making the beloved venue accessible to all.

Accessibility is about inclusion,” said Michelle McCue, Board President of Key City Theatre. “The ‘Give Us A Lift’ fundraiser for an elevator is vital to ensuring that everyone can enjoy the magic of live performances that Key City Theatre provides. We encourage everyone to help us create this experience through their donations and helping us spread the word!”

The theatre is reaching out to the community, including businesses and individual donors, to support this much-needed upgrade.

“Key City Theatre belongs to the entire community, and we need everyone’s help to make this vision a reality,” said Galen Olstead, Executive Director. “This is an investment in accessibility, inclusivity, and the future of the arts in our region. We encourage businesses, organizations, and individuals to contribute what they can to help us give everyone the chance to enjoy all that Key City Theatre has to offer.”

Donations for the Give Us A Lift fundraiser can be made online at keycitytheatre.com.

Every contribution, big or small, brings the theatre one step closer to making accessibility a reality.
