Krista’s Eye on the Kootenays
By Krista Nebloch
September 2013
September was a busy month!
The sun shone, the lake floaties floated and the skies intrigued me. I saw so very many things. And shot some neat shots.
Lead photo: I love bubbles and was up at Gold Creek with bubbles and my camera. Trying to juggle the bubble blowing and camera proved tricky but I lucked out and shot this one as a bubble came into the camera.
Nature struck our big tree last year with an extremely loud lightning strike going right thru it from top to bottom. It did not make it and came down this year.
It was a big tree; lots of wood from that one.
Caught the sunrise Labour Day at the provincial park near Nelson. Beautiful trip; beautiful place.
Pretty red cars were at a wedding, as were the bowl of silver cola balls. I had a blue dress on and the reflection is in the balls.
The cross is at St. Eugene Mission Resort and Casino, as is the big bluebird wispy sky. There is a wee bird cruising through the shot, too.
For the past five summers there has been Grey Stock.
For those new to the idea of Grey Stock it is a group of friends, lovingly called The Grey Ones, who grew up together in small town St. Albert, Alberta. We get together, catch up with families and friends and camp for a weekend in the summer. This year we were 25 km East of Golden just before the Yoho National Park boundary at a Boy Scout Camp called Camp Wenman. The days were long, the light beautiful, the skies breathtaking, rainbows, late night bonfires singing and laughing as this years crew were hilarious as always.
I have not laughed like that in a long, long time. It felt good!
The large scale camping Jenga set proved to be the hit of the weekend!
It provided hours of silliness, skill (?) and again much laughter.
