Legion delivers Poppy Fund proceeds
We are always excited when it is time to distribute the money we raise from the annual Poppy campaign.
Last night (March 14) we gave out $25,000 to organizations who benefit veterans, their families and by extension, our community as a whole.
Making the presentation on our behalf are Poppy Chairs Liz and Susan with branch President Tammy Richert to Egress Veterans Society, Angel Flight, East Kootenay Foundation for Health and not pictured the Air and Army Cadets.
We also gave the Cranbrook Food Bank a donation from the Gaming fund.
Did you know that the Poppy Fund is a trust? All monies raised must be used to benefit veterans and their families. Your branch makes sure the money we raise stays in our community.
