Library invites all to celebrate 100 Years of Stories

The Cranbrook Public Library is thrilled to announce its 100th-anniversary celebration, inviting the entire community to join in a special all-ages party commemorating a century of knowledge, connection, and growth.

“We are incredibly proud to reach this milestone,” said Ursula Brigl, Chief Librarian. “The Cranbrook Public Library opened its doors on this exact date 100 years ago on July 4, 1925 and since then we have been a cornerstone of our community, fostering literacy, providing access to information, and serving as a hub for learning and connection. This celebration is for Cranbrook!”

The staff has been working hard on a variety of historical displays that will take you on a journey through the library’s rich past and its impact on Cranbrook. There will also be photos from previous library locations, staff, volunteers, patrons and library events.

The anniversary party promises a fun-filled day for all ages, featuring: Fun Science activities for kids, photo booth with props, giant birthday card, scavengers hunt, free gifts, draws and refreshments.

There will also be an opportunity to show off your library support by purchasing a variety of fun items like Limited Edition Cranbrook Public Library reading glasses and socks! Plus, water bottles, travel mugs, tote bags and a commemorative book about the history of the library written by Cranbrook’s own Mike Selby.

Also available and by popular demand will be Limited Edition Gold Library Cards in celebration of 100 Years of the Cranbrook Public Library while supplies last.

Come celebrate a century of stories, discovery, and community spirit!
