Local business supporting Hurricane Melissa relief efforts

A Cranbrook business is hosting a month-long fundraiser – Handhelds for Jamaica – to support Jamaica and Hurricane Melissa relief efforts following the devastating storm that struck the Caribbean island nation last week, resulting in at least 28 deaths.

Ella’s Jamaican Restaurant is holding Handhelds for Jamaica, where $3 from every sandwich or burger sold at the 300 Cranbrook Street North business, from now until November 30, will go directly to Hurricane Relief Efforts in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica.

“Our goal is to provide much-needed assistance to families affected by the hurricane — including food, clean water, and rebuilding supplies,” Ella’s ownership stated.

You can help by:

1. Spreading awareness of this campaign;
2. Buying lots of Ella’s sandwiches and burgers
3. Donating funds for essential supplies; To Aleitha or Rohan or through the setup GOFUNDME.
