Local NHLer on the move to Toronto
Cranbrook born National Hockey League (NHL) forward Dryden Hunt is heading to his fifth team.
The NHL announced this morning that Hunt is leaving the Colorado Avalanche after being traded to the Toronto Maples Leafs for forward Denis Malgin.
Hunt, 27, has appeared in 28 games with the Avalanche and New York Rangers this season, scoring two goals. He has 14 goals and 42 points in 193 games with the Florida Panthers, Arizona Coyotes, Rangers and Avalanche.
Hunt was originally signed by the Panthers in 2016 as an undrafted free agent. He is a pending unrestricted free agent earning $762,500 this season.
