Loved patron’s family donates to library

The Cranbrook Public Library would like to express its heartfelt gratitude to the family of long-time patron Sharon Trefry for their generous $1,500 donation made in her memory.

Sharon was a familiar face to library staff, who remember her fondly for her kindness, curiosity, and excitement whenever she visited to browse the latest additions to the library’s shelves.

It is only fitting that this donation will go toward purchasing books by Canadian authors, and the latest by Stephen King, two of Sharon’s favourite reading interests.

Material purchased with this donation will feature a bookplate with Sharon’s name — a lasting tribute to her love of reading. “Donations like this remind us how deeply people care about their library,” said Ursula Brigl, chief librarian.

“We’re honoured to celebrate Sharon’s memory, and her love of books will touch many lives for years to come.”
