Luke McMaster brings Icons of Soul March 2

Key City Theatre is set to be jumping March 2 with Luke McMaster and the sounds of Motown.

Featuring the result of recent collaborations with Motown’s legendary Lamont Dozier, writer/producer of more than 30 number one classic R&B chart-toppers: ‘Love Is Like A Heat Wave,’ ‘I Can’t Help Myself -Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch,’ and ‘You Can’t Hurry Love’ and Rascals founder Felix Cavaliere, best known for ‘Good Lovin’,’ ‘Groovin’,’ and ‘People Got to Be Free,’ this is an event not to be missed

Icons of Soul marries McMaster’s talents with those of two Rock N’ Roll and Songwriters’ Hall of Fame inductees. This event captures the ultimate, authentic musical experience of contemporary blue-eyed soulful songwriters in collaboration with the original hit makers.

This live also show includes several behind the music previews from the soon-to-be released Icons of Soul documentary, featuring McMaster, together with his long-time songwriting/producer partner, Arun Chaturvedi, co-writing and recording with Cavaliere and Dozier at their respective Nashville and Las Vegas studios.

McMaster is best known for ‘Good Morning, Beautiful,’ his 2013 Top three Billboard AC smash hit with new age pianist, Jim Brickman and his impressive Canadian gold album run as a duo with Rob James in McMaster & James, (‘Thank You,’ ‘Love Wins Everytime,’) with media often referring to them as the “Canadian Hall & Oates.”

When he turned solo in 2002, McMaster launched a more focused songwriting career and had songs placed on multi-platinum and gold albums by Rihanna, Nick Lachey, Nick Carter and Kalan Porter (seven million sales and counting). He also recorded a succession of EPs and albums (2008’s Time EP, 2013’s All Roads, 2014’s Heart of Soul and 2016’s Trending) that contained both originals and sensual interpretations of such favourites as Stevie Wonder’s ‘Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I’m Yours),’ Roberta Flack’s ‘Feel Like Makin’ Love’ and the Bee Gees ‘How Can You Mend a Broken Heart.’

This will be an intimate evening you won’t soon forget!

Tickets are available at the Key City Theatre Box Office 250-426-7006 and online.
