Man arrested after break in at college
At about 2 a.m. Saturday morning (June 11), Cranbrook RCMP was called to the College of the Rockies for an alarm.
Staff had attended and noted an insecure door; RCMP officers attended to clear the building at which point they observed a male inside the building wearing a black ski mask and holding a hatchet. RCMP members were able to take control of the male and arrest him without incident.
The 19-year-old suspect male is a Cranbrook resident and has been charged with Break and Enter, Possession of Weapon Dangerous to the Public, and Wearing a Disguise with Intent to Commit an Offence.
He was taken before a Judicial Justice of the Peace and was released to appear in court at a later date.
