Multicultural Festival returns this weekend
This year marks the fifth annual Cranbrook Multicultural Festival.
The two-day festival, August 17 and 18, promotes multiculturalism in the City of Cranbrook by celebrating diverse cultures through live entertainment, cuisines and fine arts.
Organized by the Cranbrook Multicultural Society, up to 19 cultures are expected to be represented at the festival, running Saturday, August 18, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Cranbrook’s Rotary Park.
On Friday, August 17 is a free workshop for all who is interested in Japanese culture and Japanese/Chinese calligraphy. Children are welcome. An opportunity to learn about this ancient art, learn to write some characters or your name… light refreshment is provided during the 6 to 8 p.m. workshop at Connect Church (200-14th Avenue North)
