New Farm Kitchen available to all

Community Connections Society of Southeast BC is pleased to announce the opening of Farm Kitchen: Where Local Food Business Grows.

Farm Kitchen is a shared-use kitchen that supports food-focused entrepreneurs by providing rentable commercial kitchen and co-working office space. The facility is available to all community members and is ideal for catering company’s, small scale food processors, famers market vendors, cooking class instructors, chefs wanting to try out new ideas, professional cook students, or small businesses looking to host private culinary functions.

The brand-new commercial kitchen is equipped with rent-able dry storage, walk-in cooler and freezer space, a brand new commercial six burner gas range with convection bake, commercial dishwasher with sanitizer, large capacity Robot Coupe food processor, commercial blender and ample stainless-steel counter space.

The kitchen is also designed for individuals who want to try out a food related idea but are not quite ready to commit to the cost of a commercial kitchen of their own. “The eat local movement continues to grow and artisan foods, think local inspired menus, and community interest in a closer connection to our food system supports the relevance of this project to our times,” said Project Coordinator Tanya Malcolm.

Not only does Farm Kitchen have a high-end commercial kitchen, it also offers a fresh and collaborative co-working desk space for administrative needs.  This newly renovated office space will allow food entrepreneur’s businesses to grow beyond the kitchen.

Farm Kitchen, located at 1324 2nd St. N in Cranbrook, is also eager to engage the local community and strengthen our food connections. We will be partnering with local chefs to offer an array of culinary classes, workshops and events. Interested individuals or businesses who are enthusiastic in the kitchen and want to explore partnering with Farm Kitchen are encouraged to visit their website and sign-up for their newsletter.
