New parking payment system at EKRH, Rocky Mountain Lodge

A new parking payment system will take effect at East Kootenay Regional Hospital (EKRH) and Rocky Mountain Lodge on March 4.

These two neighbouring sites will transition to a pay-by-plate system, eliminating the need to display receipts in vehicles. The vehicle licence plate number is required to use any of four public parking pay stations.

To support patients and visitors visiting EKRH, two parking pay stations have been relocated inside the lobby and near the elevators of East Kootenay Regional Hospital. This will offer the convenience of remaining indoors to perform transactions and extend time if required.

Hourly and daily parking rates are available for purchase from the parking pay stations. Parking passes for extended periods are available to visitors and patients by contacting Interior Health’s Parking Services directly at 1-855-491-6498.

Free parking will continue for patients receiving dialysis treatment or undergoing cancer treatment in acute-care programs, and for parents or caregivers of children staying in the hospital overnight. Volunteers will still be able to park for free, and financial hardship provisions will continue to be managed on a case-by-case basis.

More information about exemptions is available on the Interior Health website.
