School District No. 5 (SD5) Board of Education is pleased to announce the hiring of Michelle Iacobucci as the new principal for Gordon Terrace Elementary School (GTES) in Cranbrook.

A University of Victoria, College of the Rockies (COTR) campus graduate, Iacobucci has 17 years’ experience as an educator, school counsellor and family youth worker (for the Cranbrook Family Centre), liaising children and families throughout SD5’s Cranbrook schools.
Most recently, Iacobucci served as Principal of Telkwa Elementary School (TES) in School District No. 54, Bulkley Valley.
“Michelle is a well-rounded educational leader and a real champion of the renewed curriculum,” said Frank Lento, SD5 Board Chair. “Her knowledge and passion will be a great asset to the students, staff and parents of Gordon Terrace.”
Iacobucci says she’s looking forward to getting to know all of the students, families and staff at Gordon Terrace and learning about all the wonderful work that’s taking place there. “I look forward to working collaboratively with the school and larger community on innovative programming that reflects the renewed BC curriculum, allowing for more choices and options for all learners.”
An outdoor enthusiast, Iacobucci also enjoys biking, skiing and camping with her family.
