Next phase of work along Victoria starting October 1
Copcan Civil LP will begin asphalt milling and paving next week starting on October 1, along Victoria Avenue between 6th Street North and 2nd Street North, marking the next phase of the ongoing sanitary sewer infrastructure upgrades.
Work will take place overnight between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. from Wednesday, October 1 to Saturday, October 4, to reduce traffic impacts.
During these hours, Victoria Avenue will be fully closed, however Victoria Avenue will be open to all traffic in all directions during the day. (See map below.)
The 2nd Street North intersection remains open to allow traffic movement from three directions and continues to be a temporary four-way stop. Emergency vehicle access will be maintained at all times.
These measures are designed to keep the project on schedule while ensuring safety and minimizing disruption for the community.
The project contractor, Copcan Civil LP, is managing this major infrastructure upgrade, which includes replacing the sanitary sewer trunk main between 2nd Street North and 6th Street North to address capacity issues.
The work also involves watermain upgrades and full width paving along Victoria Avenue. Completion is expected by late October.
