Nursing program at COTR gets boost from CFUW Cranbrook Club
The Canadian Federation of Women Cranbrook Club is pleased to announce they are able, this year, to donate two more bursaries to the College of the Rockies.
Financial and Scholarship Committee members Barb Szalanski and Ann Rice stated, “The membership voted unanimously to give two bursaries to the Licensed Practical Nursing Program for the year 2013-2014.”
The small club of only 11 active members has been able to raise enough funds this year for a one time extra donation to the women students at the College of the Rockies.
The Practical Nursing program at the College of the Rockies is a two-year program. The eligibility requirements for one of these two bursaries will be presented to a mature female student (over 19 years of age) who is enrolled in full time studies at the College of the Rockies in the Practical Nursing Program and continuing to a second year.
Students will be selecting using the criteria based on a combination of demonstrated financial need and academic achievement.
“We are very proud to be able to offer these two bursaries,” said Cathryn Henley, President of the CFUW Cranbrook Club. “We are continuing our mission of education here and worldwide in many of our projects, but being able to help the women at home is of utmost importance,” she added.
