Permits approved for proposed apartment complex
On Monday, Feb. 10, City of Cranbrook council approved a Development Permit for a proposed 49-unit apartment complex at 2000 8th Street North, along Victoria Avenue.
The project highlights include a 49-unit apartment complex with both one and two bedroom units, no barrier pedestrian connection to Rotary Way, proposed electric vehicles chargers for six vehicles, and a fenced dog area and amenity patio.
The proposed design and layout meets the standards set out in the multi-family Development Permit area, a city Engineering and Development Services department report noted.
The application also requested to reduce the minimum required parking stalls from two stalls per unit to one stall per unit, for a multi-unit residential building. Approval of the variance, which was provided by council, would facilitate the construction of the building.
A public notice to adjacent properties was mailed out on January 31. At the time of the report to council, no public comments had been received.
