Police seek to identify person of interest in vehicle thefts

Cranbrook RCMP is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a female person of interest sought for questioning in relation to two separate incidents involving stolen vehicles.

The first theft occurred on July 28 at approximately 3:25 p.m., when a white 2011 Ford F-350 (B.C. Plate: LX1632) was stolen from the 800 block of Kootenay Street North. The vehicle was later recovered abandoned in the parking lot of East Side Mario’s.

The second incident took place the following evening, July 29 at approximately 8:30 p.m., when a blue 2019 GMC Sierra (B.C. Plate: WJ9684) was taken from the 1500 block of 3rd Avenue South.

That vehicle was also located shortly after, abandoned near the intersection of 22nd Street South and 4th Avenue.

Investigators believe the same female may be connected to both incidents and are asking for the public’s help in identifying the woman pictured.

Police have obtained some footage from the surrounding areas, unfortunately the image clarity is limited, as such, police are asking that anyone with surveillance, dashcam, or doorbell footage from the afternoon of July 28 or the evening of July 29 review their recordings for any images of the suspect or the stolen vehicles.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Cranbrook RCMP at 250-489-3471 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) if they wish to remain anonymous.
