Aquatic Centre re-opened at WFP

UPDATE: Saturday, Sept. 9 – The Aquatic Centre is open as usual Saturday, following yesterday’s closure.  Staff will monitor air quality closely over the course of the next few days.

All lessons and classes are on today as scheduled. – City of Cranbrook

Original story…

Due to poor air quality in the aquatic centre at Western Financial Place Friday, the City of Cranbrook is closing the facility for the safety of both the public and staff.

The arena and walking concourse will remain open for now; however, staff will be monitoring air quality closely. Air quality at the aquatic centre will be reassessed early Saturday morning and a determination will be made whether the pool will open for lessons and classes.

Please visit the City of Cranbrook website @ www.cranbrook.ca; the Western Financial Place website @ www.westernfinancialplace.ca and the City’s Facebook and Twitter pages for updated information as it becomes available.

The City of Cranbrook appreciates the patience and understanding of our residents and visitors around this closure.
