Public-At-Large appointments approved
On Dec. 8, City of Cranbrook council adopted appointments to fill eight vacancies for statutory, select and standing city committees as well as appointments to other organizations for 2026.
Advisory Planning Commission
Council appointed Nicholas Greenfield to the Advisory Planning Commission (APC) as representative of the public-at-large for a three-year term expiring at the organizational meeting of council in December 2028;
Council appointed Robin Gold to the APC as representative of the public-at-large for a two-year term expiring at the organizational meeting of council in December 2027;
And council appointed Alana Courvette to the APC as representative of the public-at-large for a two-year term expiring at the organizational meeting of council in December 2027.
Board of Variance
Council appointed John Zimmer to the Board of Variance as representative of the public-at large for a three-year term expiring at the organizational meeting of council in December 2028.
Cranbrook Public Library Board
Council appointed Tasy Strouzas to the Cranbrook Public Library Board as representative of the public-at-large for a two-year term expiring at the organizational meeting of council in December 2027;
Council appointed Sharmista Bhattacharya to the Cranbrook Public Library Board as representative of the public-at-large for a two-year term expiring at the organizational meeting of council in December 2027;
And council appointed David Clark to the Cranbrook Public Library Board as representative of the public-at-large for a two-year term expiring at the organizational meeting of council in December 2027.
Key City Theatre Society
Council appointed Sonja Patron to the Key City Theatre Society as representative of the public-at-large for a two-year term expiring at the organizational meeting of council in December 2027.
Under the Community Charter, council can create and appoint members to its select and standing committees. Each year, these appointments are made at the organizational meeting, held as the first council meeting in December.
