Quilters bring creative joy to EKRH
Quilts 4 Kids from Creston dropped by the East Kootenay Foundation for Health last week to deliver another dozen custom handmade quilts for the regional hospital’s maternity department.
The colours and themes of the quilts are designed to bring smiles to new moms and their precious newborns. The creativity of the quilts is amazing featuring animals, airplanes, patchwork, colour themes and more. It’s then the pleasure of the fabulous team in the maternity unit to select a special quilt and gift it to the family to take home.
The Quilts 4 Kids program is a labour of love not just for the East Kootenay Regional Hospital but Creston and Trail hospitals, the BC and Alberta Children’s hospitals and for the Shamawatta First Nations Band in Manitoba.
The quilters are always appreciative of any donated fabrics that will help them continue their charitable work. If you are interested in supporting the Quilts 4 Kids cause contact Gail Mason in Creston at 250-866-5748.
