Railcar Preservation Building work continues

Cranbrook History Centre is thrilled to announce that it is finally moving forward with phase 2.1 of its Heritage Railcar Preservation Building.

“This has been in the works for quite some time and we are excited that the demolishing of the old train shed has begun, making way for a brand new roof structure,” the History Centre outlined on social media.

“The new roof will better preserve the cars in our collection, protecting them from the elements and provide improved visitor services, including accessible viewing platforms and interpretation space.

“Words can’t express how thankful we are to all who have donated to help us get to this point! We still have a long way to go, but we are looking forward to the future!

“Donations for projects like this go a long way toward helping us achieve our long-term goals in preserving and sharing our historic railcar collection and other historically significant artifacts.”
