Realm celebrates community inclusion
For the last 20 years, communities across B.C. have held events and initiatives to help build awareness about inclusion for adults with diverse abilities, and to celebrate the people who include them.
Although Community Inclusion Month is in October, Realm celebrates bi-annually with their community picnic.
This year’s picnic, held July 18 in Cranbrook’s Rotary Park, featured music from The Notable Folk and One of The Few. The afternoon of family fun also featured airbrush tattoos by the Painted Frog, face painting by Melanie Caron and Kimberly Earl.
Realm is a dedicated team of professionals focused on the provision of services that empower individuals with diverse abilities to develop and maintain autonomy within their community. As an organization we strive to truly hear the individual, learn the challenges they may face and work together in the development of a unique strategy to teach and implement, and develop skills to maintain independence.
Here’s a look at last week’s community picnic.
