City of Cranbrook chief administrative officer David Kim July 18 reported the successful tenders for three resurfacing projects, valued at $3,669,810.34, part of the 2016 Capital Works Program.

lnteroute Construction Ltd. (BA Blacktop) was awarded the contract for 11th Avenue South between 3rd Street and 11th Street South, with a tender price of $1,996,364.60. Only one tender was received for that project, which is already well underway (pictured above).

BE Civil Projects Ltd. is the successful tender for the 4th Street South between 11th Avenue and 14th Avenue South project, with a tender price of $823,997.82. Three tenders were received for this project which is also underway.

And the 6th Street South between 11th Avenue and 14th Avenue South project was also awarded to BE Civil Projects Ltd. for a tender price of $849,447.92. Three tenders were received.

“Construction is underway on Contract one and Contract two, which are scheduled to be complete by the beginning of September. Construction for Contract three will begin in August and is scheduled to be complete by the end of September,” Kim told council.

“You will see a good chunk of road work over the summer,” he said.

Mayor Lee Pratt said he is pleased to see headway with road work in the city.

“It’s great to see 11^th Avenue get done,” he said.
