Cranbrook RCMP would like to thank the Sam Steele Society and all of our citizens for acknowledging our first responders under the theme ‘Salute the Boots.’

Our boots will be on the ground this weekend with additional officers that will include roadblocks, foot patrols, bike patrols and the occasional red serge appearance.

The annual Sam Steele Days weekend holds special significance for our detachment as our members take special pride in this area’s historical link to the early days of the Northwest Mounted Police.

Our goal for this weekend is ensure our citizens and guests enjoy safe events and safe travels. Our trucks may not be as shiny as other first responders but, we are working on our barbecue skills to try and keep up with our more experienced partners.

We are fortunate at Cranbrook detachment to have access to such an incredibly skilled and dedicated network of local first responder partners. Happy Sam Steele Days!

Sgt Barry Graham,

Cranbrook RCMP Operations NCO
