Seniors Dinner returns to Colombo Lodge Nov. 26

Forty-four years ago, long time beloved citizen, restaurateur and Rotarian George Georgopoulos decided to start a Christmas Dinner to feed our seniors.

It all began in the basement of the Apollo Ristorante and Steak House, eventually moving to the Heritage Inn and later to Cranbrook’s largest banquet venue, The Colombo Lodge.

The Rotary Club of Cranbrook became a partner with George as the event became too much for him to handle alone.

Only a global pandemic has interrupted this hugely successful community event.

The Colombo Lodge generously donates their hall annually to help celebrate with our seniors and our Rotary Club of Cranbrook. Rick’s Fine Meats has been donating 300 pounds of fresh turkey for years to help us ! Thanks to Kootenay Kwik Print for donating the tickets.

On Wednesday, November 26 at 5:30 p.m. we will have prepared and will serve 436 seniors a full fresh turkey dinner!

Tickets are on sale at Rick’s Fine Meats and the Heritage Inn.

We will also have live music provided by Two Ticks (Rollie and Steve) and Tom Bungay, what a party!

Cost is a mere $5 with all ticket proceeds going to charity. Please help us celebrate the annual Rotary/Colombo Seniors Dinner!
