The seventh annual Business Walk returned to the streets of Cranbrook on September 28. This one-day event was a fantastic opportunity for the business community to engage with civic leaders, the Cranbrook Chamber of Commerce, Community Futures, and other business support organizations.

The object of the walk was to take the “pulse” of the business community and provide an opportunity for business leaders to bring their concerns, ideas, or comments forward to key decision makers in the community.

Volunteers were armed with a quick survey to ask businesses some directed questions about their current business environment. The survey helps in tracking any changes to the business environment year over year, information which can be used in the planning and development of programs and services through the city, the chamber, and Community Futures.

“The Business Walk provides an unparalleled opportunity for face-to-face conversations with businesses in the community. The information gathered during the walk is invaluable in determining the most pressing issues and needed supports for businesses in Cranbrook,” said Helen Barron, Executive Director of the Cranbrook Chamber of Commerce.

The Business Walk is only possible with the help of volunteers from the business community and businesses willing to open their doors and share their thoughts and experiences. The chamber is grateful to have such engaged and committed volunteers and we appreciate the time given to us by businesses in the community.

All volunteer walkers were treated to an after hours reception at the Heid Out as thanks for donating 3hrs of time on the day of the walk. To volunteer next year please contact the chamber before June 20, 2023.
