Sewer work to cause closures

Starting Monday, September 15, the intersection of 4th Street S and 15th Avenue S will be closed to accommodate replacement of the St. Mary’s Sanitary Sewer.

A portion of Rotary Way will also be closed for the duration of the project.

The Rotary Way trail along Joseph Creek will be closed as crews replace the sanitary sewer line along 4thStreet S. The intersection with 15th Avenue S will also be closed, with the work anticipated to extend over two weeks.

Motorists can detour around the construction zone using 16th Avenue S or 14th Avenue S, while local traffic will still be able to access 15th Avenue S with some minor interruptions.

The project contractor, Gally Equipment Services Ltd. is overseeing the replacement and will be on scene with posted signage in the local area.

The city is asking the public to avoid the area if possible to improve safety. Please slow down near the construction zone, obey all signage, and give crews room to work.
