Sound of Music Sing-Along Nov. 23 at Key City
Raindrops on roses, whiskers on kittens… and a whole theatre full of people singing their hearts out!
Key City Theatre invites you to “climb every mountain” and join the fun at the Sound of Music Sing-Along on Sunday, November 23 at 3 p.m.
This special event brings the beloved Rodgers and Hammerstein classic to the big screen on its 60th anniversary—complete with on-screen captions so you can sing every note with confidence.
It’s a rare chance to experience the magic, the music, and the memories of The Sound of Music in full cinematic glory surrounded by friends, family, and fellow fans.
Adding to the excitement, Tyrel Hawke will serve as the event’s guest MC. Many will remember Tyrel as Captain Von Trapp in the 2005 Mount Baker musical, directed by Rod Osiowy and staged at Fort Steele.
That production remains a fond memory for many, and several of the original cast members will be in the audience, ready to belt out the songs they once performed on stage.
The Von Trapp children may have grown up, but as Tyrel says, “once a Von Trapp, always a Von Trapp!”
To make the day even more delightful, there will be a costume contest—so dust off your dirndls, wrap yourself in curtains, or come dressed as your favourite nun, goat herder, or edelweiss! Treat yourself at intermission to Favourite Things cupcakes and try one of our specialty mocktails, including The Lonely Goatherd and the Do-Re-Mi Delight.
The Sound of Music Sing-Along is more than a movie—it’s a community celebration for all generations to enjoy together. Whether you’re introducing the film to your grandchildren or reliving your own childhood joy, this is sure to be an afternoon filled with laughter, nostalgia, and song.
Tickets are available now at keycitytheatre.com or by calling 250-426-7006.
