Stunting leads to fine and vehicle impoundment
Want to know an easy way to lose $368 and your vehicle for a week? Here’s how!
On May 14, at about 8 p.m., Cranbrook RCMP received a call about vehicles doing donuts at a parking lot in the 1500-block of Cranbrook St N.
On attendance members noted a Ford Escape drifting and driving at a high rate of speed near
pedestrians and other vehicles.
The vehicle was stopped by police and the driver was issued a $368 fine for driving without due care and attention.
The 17-year old driver also had his vehicle impounded for seven days.
“The RCMP have received many complaints about vehicles “spinning out” and “rolling coal” over the past month,” said Cst. Katie Forgeron. “We wish to remind the motoring public that even if you are in a parking lot, the Motor Vehicle Act applies and the consequences can be costly.”
