Successful Jail and Bail raises $9,700
As part of the Cops for Kids Charitable Foundation, officers arrested several people in Cranbrook Sept. 14 as part of a fundraiser.
Police officers acted on a Summons often prepared by friends and co-workers. The ‘arrestees’ were brought to Tamarack Mall, presented to the judge and had to raise bail in order to be released.
Twelve persons were arrested and ordered to raise bail ranging from $200 to $1,000. One subject managed to raise almost $3,000. Over $9,700 was raised which will go to young children in need of assistance as a result of medical conditions.
Cops For Kids has many events throughout the year. The signature event is the Cops for Kids Ride which arrived in Cranbook on Wednesday. This gruelling 10-day ride occurs each year over some very challenging terrain. The riders are driven by the commitment to the little people that we serve in the Southern Interior Region of British Columbia.
Cops for Kids is a charitable foundation that is committed to assisting children that have suffered a medical, physical or traumatic crisis in their young lives. We tirelessly work to raise funds to continue our ongoing support to the children in the communities that we serve. www.copsforkids.org
