Suspect in custody after robbery with firearm

Cranbrook RCMP currently have a female in custody after a robbery with a firearm in mid December.

On December 18, Cranbrook RCMP was notified that a female suspect threatened two people with a firearm and robbed them of a sum of money.

As RCMP continued to investigate they were made aware that the female was still in possession of the firearm.

On January 2, 2024, investigation led officers to the 2500-block of 12th St N. RCMP conducted a search of the residence. With the help of the Southeast District Emergency Response Team, the female was arrested and the firearm was located.

“During the search, suspected drugs were also located in the residence. One person, a 39-year old resident of Cranbrook, remains in custody at this time,” said Cst. Katie Forgeron.

The BC Prosecution Service has approved two charges against Ashley Nicole Casimer, including Robbery with a Firearm and Possess a Weapon While Prohibited.
