Thanksgiving Kids’ Carnival Oct. 4
On October 4, two local churches are joining together for a second year to host a Thanksgiving Themed Kids’ Carnival that is different from many others.
The Carnival will emphasize to children the importance of being thankful, and generosity.
In an atmosphere of thanksgiving, children will complete a circuit of facepainting, crafting a personalized food bag, carnival style games, and thoughtful thanksgiving stations, that win them food bank donations.
Upon completion of the circuit, children turn in their food items to a communal ‘pantry’ and receive a treat bag as a reward.
We are estimating approximately 100 children will attend this event, with each accumulating up to 10 food items each, plus a treat bag. Calculating each food item to be an average of two dollars, with a treat bag worth five dollars, the cost for each child completing the circuit is estimated at $25.
For one hundred children then, it is estimated to cost approximately $2,500 for the food and treat cost alone.
Any leftover food items would be added to the pantry to be delivered to our local food bank following the weekend.
