Tom Cochrane and Red Rider white hot at Key City
Canadian rock n roll icon Tom Cochrane returned to Cranbrook March 16 for an intimate and inspired performance at Key City Theatre.
Cochrane was at ease and having fun rolling out hit after hit from his illustrious solo career and with Red Rider, his 65-year-old pipes strong and clean.
Lynn Lake, Manitoba’s favourite son has been rocking across Canada and around the world since 1974, when he released his first solo album Hang On To Your Resistance.
He followed that up with a 10-year chart run with Red Rider and then back to solo, receiving eight Juno Awards plus multiple songwriter awards from SOCAN, CAPAC, and ASCAP. He is GRAMMY nominee, a member of the Canadian Music Hall of Fame and the Canadian Music Industry Hall Of Fame.
A packed Key City Theatre audience was treated to a cross section of Cochrane’s career Saturday night, two nights following the release of his latest album, ‘Revisited.’
Making the experience awesome was the work of his band mates, including Red Rider founding member Ken Greer (keyboards, guitar and steel guitar), Jeff Jones (bass), who was a founding member of RUSH, and also a member of Red Rider and Davide Direnzo on drums.
