Unknown substance on pickleball courts investigated

Cranbrook RCMP is investigating an act of mischief after receiving several calls of a substance being thrown onto the city’s pickleball courts.

On May 10, Cranbrook RCMP received its latest call from residents playing pickle ball on the Victoria Avenue courts.  Several times in the past two weeks, players have shown up to the courts and noted a liquid substance that has the odour of sewage.  At one point, one of the pickle ballers was actually hit with the substance.

“We are wanting to let the public know that if someone is doing this on purpose, it is mischief and there are possible criminal repercussions,” said Cst Katie Forgeron.

“If you have any idea who might be responsible we ask that you contact the local detachment at 250-489-3471,” added Cst. Forgeron.
