Used Book Sale runs October 17 to 21

There’s snow on the ground; it’s getting chilly outside; it’s the perfect time to stock up on your reading for the winter!

The 2018 edition of the annual Fall Book Sale will run Wednesday, Oct. 17 through to Sunday October 21, in the Ktunaxa Gym, 220 Cranbrook St. N. (across from the Cranbrook Public Library on Kootenay Street).

Wednesday, Oct. 17, is reserved for members of the Friends of the Cranbrook Public Library; memberships can be purchased at the door for $10, and the members-only sale runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The book sale is open to the public on Thursday, Oct. 18 (11 a.m. to 9 p.m.), Friday, Oct. 19 and Saturday, Oct. 20 (11 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days), and Sunday, Oct. 21 (9:30 a.m. to noon). Sunday is the popular “fill your Friends of the Library bag sale.”

Donations of used books, CDs, and DVDs are still being accepted at the Cranbrook Public Library for the annual used book sale.

For over 20 years the Friends of the Cranbrook Public Library and the Cranbrook Sunrise Rotary Club have worked together on this annual fall sale.

The proceeds of the sale are divided evenly between the two organizations. The Friends of the Cranbrook Public Library use their funds to assist the Cranbrook Public Library with programs and services. Sunrise Rotary uses its proceeds to support many community projects such as scholarships, youth leadership training, youth exchange, values and ethics workshops with local secondary students, and other Rotary projects.
