Victoria Avenue business broken into

The following is a synopsis of calls received by Cranbrook RCMP for the week (from 6 a.m.) Sept. 19 to 6 a.m., Sept. 26.
The detachment received 137 calls for service throughout that period.
Among the calls police handled…
One break and enter reported: a businesses on Victoria Avenue was broken into overnight where culprit(s) targeted the ATM machine and business safe. The matter is still under investigation at this time.
Two impaired drivers – both alcohol.
Three collisions – two in town; driver charged in one of the accidents. One collision out of town… no major damage or injuries in these collisions.
One hit and run incident: A Vehicle hit a tree and the driver fled. The driver was identified and charged with several Motor Vehicle Act infractions including failing to remain at scene.
Nine Mental Health Act calls; three apprehended.
Five assault complaints: three domestic in nature (in two of the incidents arrests were made). There was also one assault Peace Officer (officer did not incur any injury) and one bar fight.
11 thefts reported: two shoplifting/ two thefts of a vehicle – one was later recovered the same day… the other theft of vehicle is still outstanding / three bicycle thefts…all were not locked up.
One report of property damage in the rural area near Mayook Settlement Road…electric fencing cut.
One drug seizure: marijuana.
12 false alarms/ false 911 complaints.
Three persons arrested for intoxication in public place.
