Water utility customers can expect to experience some water discolouration periodically over the next few months, as the City of Cranbrook continues its annual water main flushing program into the South Hill area Thursday.

The area affected will include properties from 17th Street South to 23rd St. S between 13th Avenue South and 15th Ave S.

Some customers may experience discolouration in the water for a short period while this flushing work is done. If you do have discolouration, please run your cold water tap until the water runs clear. This discolouration is not a public health concern.

The annual flushing program is done each year to ensure water mains are clear of sediment in order to provide the best water quality possible to your home and business. The city will provide updates regularly so you know where the flushing program is moving to next. The city expects to have this work completed by late August.

The City of Cranbrook appreciates the patience and understanding of our residents and businesses as this important flushing program unfolds.
