Well-being check leads to snow removal
A Valentine’s Day Cranbrook RCMP well-being check turned into a snow shovelling event.
Yesterday afternoon RCMP members were called to a well-being check in the Mount Royal area. A female had not been heard from in several days and friends and neighbours were concerned.
Once at the residence the police were met by a female who had obvious mobility struggles. She was concerned that her dog would not be able to venture outside and that her food delivery would not be able to make it into the driveway due to the amount of snow accumulation.
“On hearing her plight, members took the initiative to ensure that the female had food in her cupboards. The members also took on the task of shovelling to make sure her dog could freely play outside and she was able to continue to have food delivered,” said Cst. Katie Forgeron.
The female has since been referred to local services that can help her out in the future.
