When is the best time to buy a home?
Now that the summer home buying frenzy is dying down we enter the ‘Season of the Savers.’
This is when people with their homes on the market begin to panic a little as cooler temperatures bring fewer buyers to their doors. If you find yourself in the latter category then here are some reasons why buying in the fall could save you some serious cash.
Feel the motivation
Once the seller’s season comes to an end those with their homes left on the market are often more motivated to sell. This could mean that they would entertain lower offers, more inclusions, and less bartering which all result in a smoother transaction for the buyer.
Harder to hide
The cool weather could be your saving grace when it comes to revealing drafty homes that would otherwise be able to keep their secret in the warmer months. Pay extra close attention to doorways and windows. Those cracks might slash the purchase price down quite a bit.
Slash those prices
Home prices typically fall slightly come October. This means that house that may have been slightly out of your reach back in July are now looking much more affordable. Seize those cold hard savings!
So if you are looking to buy then now might just be the best time. Not only are the potential savings there but the cold weather can draw your attention to issues with a home that may have gone unnoticed otherwise.
If you have questions about the market in your area then give your favorite real estate professional a call and see what is possible today!
