Why does Cranbrook have the highest gas prices?
Letter to the Editor
Ever since making a trip to Vancouver last month, I’ve been very upset and dismayed about the price of gas in our fair city. We noticed that we were the highest price that we encountered province-wide.
This includes the Vancouver metro district where they have a 30 cent a litre transit tax that we don’t. How can this be?
In addition, towns in our region ie: Invermere, Fernie, etc., which are usually a bit pricier than we are, were cheaper.
I asked our mayor to get involved and speak out for the citizens of Cranbrook and haven’t heard anything further.
I also think our provincial MLA and our federal MP should be demanding answers on behalf of their constituents.
This is grass roots stuff and may not be as important on their radars as some of the hot buttons our governments get involved in, but in my opinion, this would resonate very well with us voters.
Some answers would be appreciated.
