Win tickets to Starlite Ball and a resort stay
Enter to win two tickets to East Kootenay Foundation for Health’s (EKFH) 2018 Starlite Ball and a night’s stay at St. Eugene Golf Resort & Casino on November 3.
The ball will be a spectacular Great Gatsby style event.
All of the funds raised are going towards laboratory technology.
“Our medical laboratories supply 70% of the information that guides patient screening, diagnosis, treatment and eventual outcomes. The labs in our hospitals and health care centres really are the heartbeat of our health care system,” said EKFH executive director Brenna Baker.
There is currently over $1.5 million in laboratory equipment needs throughout the East Kootenay.
“This laboratory equipment comes at a hefty price tag; for example, one chemistry analyzer costs $97,000. There just aren’t enough resources to cover the ongoing costs of improving health care,” Baker said, adding, “On behalf of the East Kootenay Foundation for Health I am very excited to tell you about our 2018 Starlite Campaign.
“Our annual event that runs November 1 – December 31 and raises funds for the much-needed equipment and patient comfort for the entire East Kootenay Interior Health Region.”
The 2018 Starlite Campaign will be focusing on the needs of the laboratories in each of the seven health care facilities in the East Kootenay, including the East Kootenay Regional Hospital, Creston Valley Hospital, Elk Valley Hospital, Invermere and District Hospital, Golden and District Hospital, as well as the Sparwood and Elkford Health Care Centres.
