A woman found in Joseph Creek beside MacKinnon Park in Cranbrook yesterday morning has died at East Kootenay Regional Hospital (EKRH).

“Unfortunately, attempts to revive the lady were unsuccessful and she was pronounced deceased at EKRH.  Cranbrook RCMP has conducted its investigation and the matter is deemed non criminal,” reported S/Sgt. Hector Lee, Cranbrook RCMP Detachment commander.

Lee said he cannot comment on how she ended up in the creek.

“There were other circumstances in play that I cannot comment on,” he said.
