Letter to the Editor

These days, evenings are gardening and watering time because it is just too hot to do it otherwise.

We’re in a heat dome. It was a hair under 35 C July 24.  ʔaq’am is burning down, literally.

And all kinds of entitled assholes (don’t lecture me on language: the profanity is in the subject here, not the noun) are sitting in their vehicles in box store parking lots, idling, running the air conditioner and the tail pipe emissions while scrolling on their phones and waiting for their spouses to bring out the groceries.

We are a deficient species which will not survive this self-administered environmental catastrophe.

Which other creatures routinely and efficiently destroy their habitat, their conditions for life?
